Biography

Brandon has experience successfully advocating for a vast array of clients in both criminal and civil cases. Brandon takes a dynamic and client-oriented approach to his practice, making his clients’ goals the primary concern. Brandon uses his passion for public speaking, writing and creative problem-solving to advocate for the best outcomes of his clients, all while working with them in a way that brings comfort and clarity to their legal situation.

Brandon has practiced in state and federal court, having worked to settle and win car accident-based and medical malpractice-based personal injury cases, while also getting criminal cases resolved with reduced charges or dismissals. In addition, Brandon has experience litigating constitutional law claims regarding 4th, 8th, and 14th Amendment violations.

Brandon attended Southeastern Louisiana University before moving to Utah, earning a bachelor’s in English and political science, with an honor’s diploma and study abroad credits from Queen’s University Belfast in the latter discipline. Brandon also earned awards from the university in both of his majors, winning the Harold Leu Award in political science and the D Vicker’s Award in English for his creative writing.

Brandon took his passion for writing to law school, where he moved to Utah to attend BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School. There, he became passionate about both litigation and the Beehive State. At BYU Law, Brandon competed in the Linda Anderson Trial Competition, where he and his teammate advanced to the final round—being awarded the certificate for First Runner Up by the Utah Bar’s Litigation Division. Brandon then went on to represent BYU Law’s traveling trial advocacy team in Denver at the American Association of Justice’s national trial advocacy competition. Brandon also worked in BYU’s Law and Entrepreneurship Clinic, which provides free legal services for Utah-based entrepreneurs. There, he advised start-ups and drafted LLC operating agreements and general business contracts for multiple local entrepreneurs.

A southern Louisiana native, Brandon grew up writing, playing football and competing in amateur boxing out of Lafourche Parish. His dad, a professional boxer, shares his love for boxing and has trained him throughout his competitive run. Brandon also enjoys Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and he can occasionally be found practicing his moves at 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu in downtown Salt Lake. Since moving to Utah, Brandon has fallen in love with the state—especially the gorgeous hikes and scenery littered throughout it.
