Biography

John W. Murray is a Utah civil litigation and patent attorney with a strong interdisciplinary background in law, technology, and business. His practice includes civil litigation, real estate matters, and intellectual property. He is valued for his precise legal analysis, effective advocacy, and ability to navigate complex technical and legal issues.

In addition to his litigation practice, John is a registered patent attorney and brings valuable insight to matters involving intellectual property and technology. His prior experience as a network programmer with IBM and Cisco Systems, combined with his later ventures in startups and real estate development, enables him to offer practical, business-oriented legal solutions.

John holds a Science Bachelor from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah, and a law degree from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School. His academic foundation bridges science, business, and law—supporting a multifaceted approach to client representation.

John is also instrumental in advancing the firm’s internal legal systems. He is currently leading efforts to improve the firm’s use of software and workflow tools, helping streamline case management, document generation, and overall operational efficiency.
