Biography

Emily Williams brings a powerful combination of prosecutorial insight and client-focused advocacy to her practice at Hepworth Legal. Having served as a County Civil Attorney and as a prosecutor handling both felonies and misdemeanors in Wyoming, Emily offers a rare dual perspective on the criminal justice system—one that greatly strengthens her work in criminal defense.

Before joining Hepworth Legal, Emily practiced at a distinguished private firm, where she managed a diverse caseload spanning family law, torts, contract disputes, and landlord–tenant matters.

Emily approaches each case with the understanding that every client’s circumstances and goals are unique. She listens carefully, communicates clearly, and provides strategic guidance at every stage to achieve results aligned with her clients’ values and priorities.

An accomplished litigator, Emily’s extensive courtroom experience and award-winning trial advocacy—recognized during her time at the University of Wyoming College of Law—have earned her a reputation as a confident and effective advocate. Her experience on both sides of the courtroom allows her to anticipate opposing strategies and navigate complex legal challenges with precision.

Emily’s current practice includes criminal defense, civil litigation (including torts, contract law, and landlord–tenant disputes), as well as estate planning, adoptions, and guardianships. She is dedicated to delivering skilled representation built on trust, transparency, and communication.

Outside the courtroom, Emily finds her greatest joy in being the mother of three witty young adults. A lifelong musician, she has served her community through music for more than 35 years. In her free time, she enjoys interior design, costuming for community and high school theater, and—by her own admission—struggling to keep her garden alive.
